How Can I Get a Fair Trial

A lot of time defendants ask, "How can I get a fair trial?" They are afraid that the system is stacked against them. As a criminal defense lawyer I deal with people all the time who are facing serious criminal charges. A criminal defense lawyer stands in a unique position.

A criminal defense lawyer knows that even though you might not be guilty of the charges against you it is not unreasonable to ask the question, "How can I get a fair trial."

You have certain rights as a defendant in a criminal case. They start at the very moment you become a suspect. The first right you want to exercise is your right to remain silent. In my years as a criminal defense lawyer I have seen too many people go to jail because they just could not stop themselves from talking.

The right to remain silent is right in the Constitution. Why would anybody not use that right? You can always explain things later, after you talk to a criminal defense lawyer. And by the way, if you are charged with a crime do not use some lawyer who is not a criminal defense lawyer.

It is funny how so many lawyers think they can be a criminal defense lawyer without even knowing the basics of how to proceed. Do not make the mistake of letting some lawyer handle your criminal case if he or she is not experienced in criminal law.

If you have a heart problem, you see a heart doctor. If you have a dental problem, you see a dentist. If you have a criminal charge against you, see a criminal defense lawyer.

You can always contact me for a free consultation about your case. I will be glad to meet with you so you can talk to a real criminal defense lawyer.
